WALTER SISULU UNIVERSITY SHUTS DOWN!

TWO CAMPUSES NOW HAVE BEEN SHUT DOWN: EAST LONDON MAIN CAMPUS, POTSDAM AND NELSON MANDELA DRIVE, UMTATA

This photograph of a burning car was taken  in WSU East London, Potsdam Campus during the student protest. They burnt school car and the  Old Residence.
The only reason for the protest involves the same old NSFAS together with the residence allocation which is the main issue in both these 2 campuses. Other issues include the Accademically excluded students, and Special cases students.

This is bad for the education of a black child as classes have been put on pause because of this.
The police are said to be all over the Potsdam campus and are cruelly removing students from the Campus.

The photo alongside was taken today 08 March 2018 by the students who are being forced to leave the school premises with immediate effect.

I do not know where this will lead us, this is the time we are supposed to be using for our future but it looks like our needs have been put on hold by those who are supposed to lead us.

Our voices are taken for granted, when are we going to study if things continue this way?

#PoorBlackChild

We need to be saved from this, this is getting us nowhere.

  2. This is just frustrating!!! We now have loads of work expected for us to finish by our selves at home!
If only they could improve the system for allocations and everything we would be learning without any distractions. Walter Sisulu University has now turned to being UNISA!

  3. Why we have to burn school properties if we want to be heard. WSU is just something else now, I don't encourage anyone to study here its just waste of time.

  4. To be frank, I'm so sick and tired of these varsity closing down all the time. It has became some sort of entertainment now, we are here to pursue our dreams and this is standing in the way of that!

    1. It seems to be the new "normality" eWSU. They seem to not get that we're here for one reason only, which is to only persue our dreams qha!!

  5. People need to learn that violence does and has never solved any issue. This is just a waste of our educational time and it's becoming a norm for the students of this institute to strike whenever there is a disagreement. Something has to be done and fast!.

  6. Strike is not a solution!!!....It's been decades now since WSU started striking whenever there's an issue but that has never worked..The management at large and the SRC members need to change the way of doing things otherwise the quality of education at WSU will continue to decrease...the sad thing is that our professions will not be recognised in the business world.....

  7. Guys I really don't see a need for students to vandalise school property because it won't solve their problems instead it will make things worse.

  8. Vandalising school's property won't change anything. Now we already wasted 2 weeks.

  9. Strike has become the culture of Walter Sisulu University. This consume time and it is affecting the students that are doing semester courses. Workload becomes too much for lecturers and students after all this.

  10. Striking is time consuming and for me WSU doesn't seems as a University at all....it has become a College. What kind of University that strike 3 times a year? Surely some of those student who start a strike don't like to accomplish their dreams without starting a strike.

  11. This striking thing ruin our future. ...we are failing not because we aren't capable of passing but because we don't have time

IS THE INCREASE IN VAT A GOOD THING FOR OUR COUNTRY?

VAT to increase to 15% from 1 April Finance minister Malusi Gigaba has announced that South Africa will see its first VAT rate increase for the first time in 25 years. As of 1 April 2018, the effective VAT rate will rise from 14% to 15% adding approximately R22,9 billion to the fiscus, Gigaba said in his budget speech. Personally, I do not think that this is a good thing for us citizens as goods are already way up there in prices. The finance Minister says this will help increase the countries revenues, but what about the people who have nothing and still have to feed their families with this increase in VAT? If this is done then social grants should be increased more so people can live an almost comfortable life not fearing of going to bed hungry because of this.  What do you think?? https://www.dailymaveric.co.za

SOUTH AFRICA: A New Beginning

Ever since Nelson Mandela left the office of the president, things have been going in an unusual way. Jacob Zuma took the country into his hands with the intention of satisfying his own needs, he got involved in many activities including the arrival of the  Guptas. Now we have a new President, Mr Cyril Ramaphosa who is almost the closest image of Madiba and was favoured by the late President thinking one day he could lead this country. Indeed he is leading the country and seems to be taking it to new heights, from the appreciation of rand against US Dollar and other foreign currencies. I see only hope for our country, and that is when white men and black men, desiring neither power nor money, but desiring only the good for their country come together to work for it.
